Shuddhi / Cleansing
"freedom from defilement"
Shuddhi is a Sanskrit word meaning "purification," "cleansing" and "freedom from defilement."
Base in the concepts of yogic tradition, this performance is intended to cleanse the energy of World War II in the Small Arms space. Through the creation and sharing of positive vibrations the sounds of war will be suggested through drumming. Peaceful beats of tabla (Traditional Indian membranophone percussion) and chants of OM “AUM”, along with singing bowls will be a part of this transformative performance. The experience will bring participants a sense of peace, harmony and alignment with Mother Nature.
History:
The building and the existing water tower are the last remaining structures of the larger Small Arms Limited munitions plant built in 1940, which employed a significant number of women in support of the Allied Forces during World War II.
