Raheel Patel (He/Him) is a multidisciplinary artist and curator. He was born and raised in the UNESCO world heritage city of Ahmedabad in India. Raheel inherited this city’s renowned cultural values, classical art forms, and traditional techniques, which he now applies to his contemporary art practice.
After immigrating to Canada in 2014, he completed the Culture and Museum Management program at Centennial College. He conducted an internship at the Peel Art Gallery, Museum and Archives (PAMA), where he curated The Art Of Kreeda, an exhibition based on the board games of India. Through his art studio, Holy Cow, he conducts art educational workshops for schools, museums, and art centres. He has served as a Public Art Advisory Committee Chair for the Art Gallery of Mississauga and a Community Engagement Officer for the Mississauga Arts Council. In 2021, he created and curated the Lost Umbrellas project for Creative Hub 1352’s Lost Museum Festival.
He has recently exhibited his work in the two-person Remorse exhibition at Toronto, and recently he was a project lead/curator for the Art Gallery of Mississauga LOVE LAB residency for queer emerging artists.
